EcoIntellect E65 – Ash-Based Binder for Soil Stabilization

Purely for better stabilization

Low-carbon ash-based binder for infrastructure construction

EcoIntellect E65 binders are made from carefully selected industrial by-products, including materials generated in energy production, mining and the construction industry.

EcoIntellect’s recycled binders have the lowest carbon footprints on the market. CO₂ emissions are reported for the manufacturing stage (A1–A3) and, when required, in accordance with the EPD for stages A1–A4.

Stabilization improves the reuse of low-quality soil and reduces the use of raw earth minerals and lowers logistics costs.

E65 – Finnish ash-based binder

E65 is made from carefully researched, high-quality industrial by-products, including power plant ash from energy production, gypsum and lime from industrial processes, and slag from the steel industry. The binder can replace traditional building materials, such as burnt lime and oil-based foam bitumen.

The binder formulation is tailored to the requirements of each project, so the proportions of the raw materials may vary depending on the application.

E65 has the lowest carbon footprint in its category – revolutionizing low-carbon construction

It is typical in a circular economy that the carbon footprint varies. The carbon footprints of E65 binders vary by destination. The variation is influenced by, among other things, the location of the sites and the exact recipe.

E65 Low and E65 Basic:

The exact carbon footprint is calculated for each customer, if necessary.

The calculation has been made in accordance with The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol’s product life cycle calculation and reporting standard.

The standard follows the life cycle approach defined by ISO LCA standards 14040 and 14044.

Applications of E65 ash-based binder

Recycled binder is an innovative and environmentally friendly solution for several construction and renovation projects. Here are examples of its uses:

  • road and railway subgrade reinforcement
  • field structures
  • ground reinforcement
  • stabilization of peat soils
  • port construction
  • noise barriers
  • landfill structures
  • mine backfilling
  • contaminated soil stabilization
  • treatment of sulfate-rich soils and
  • similar applications

When using recycled binder, it is important to carefully follow the work instructions given by the designer.

Soil stabilization

Why is it used:

Deep stabilization prevents the ground from sinking and improves its bearing capacity.

Where is it used:

Soil stabilization is used to improve ground strength and bearing capacity in road, railway and municipal infrastructure construction, as well as in vibration damping and transition structures.

A cost-effective option:

Stabilization reduces construction costs by up to 40%.
